Commercial Sales Consultant

We are searching for a Commercial Sales Consultant to join the Ferntech Commercial Solutions team. The team are New Zealand's drone specialists, providing effective and efficient commercial drone solutions across a range of industries, including surveying, agriculture, public safety and asset inspection. We connect our clients with leading brands and proven solutions with the goal of helping local organisations harness aerial technology for their specific needs.

As Commercial Sales Consultant, you will be an integral part of the Ferntech Commercial team, providing new and existing clients with specialist service and knowledgeable advice. These client’s interests are in innovative products and adapting market-leading technologies to their business requirements. As their main point of call, you will build long-lasting relationships through your knowledge, support and enthusiasm for our products and services. You will be highly invested in growing the reach of commercial drone applications throughout New Zealand.

We are looking for someone with the following skills, experience and values:

  • Has experience and an interest in using DJI drones

  • Has an interest and/or prior knowledge in drone technology and its practical application to industry

  • Has an interest in learning about and engaging with innovative technology

  • Is technically savvy — prior drone/camera knowledge is desirable

  • Is a strong communicator with the ability to clearly articulate the ways drones can be applied to various industries

  • Proven experience in sales

  • Takes responsibility for outcomes, continually learning, sourcing answers and sharing ideas with others

  • Builds strong relationships by proactively listening to customers and team members

  • Presents themselves in a professional manner and takes every interaction as an opportunity to impress and delight our clients

  • Shows dependability through consistent actions, honesty, respect for others, and working together to find the best solution


Roles and responsibilities:

  • Becomes a member of the Commercial Solutions team who specialise in commercial drone sales, marketing and support for our B2B clients

  • Assists with the growth of commercial drone application in New Zealand via shows, conferences, demonstration days and marketing activity

  • Advises and sells products in store, and via phone, email and at various shows and events

  • Continually learns and develops their skill and knowledge as the technology progresses

  • Works with other team members to provide our clients with the best possible solution

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the growth in commercial solutions sales. You will work closely with management, marketing and sales team to develop and execute effective business plans to grow the adoption of commercial UAV use in New Zealand. 

This role will involve getting out of the office on a regular basis to show the potential of drone technology via demonstration days, conferences and shows. You will be highly invested in growing the reach of commercial drone applications throughout New Zealand.
